Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the different players acquire 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s first card, you need to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the wager is the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus a sum equal to the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The house pays money even with your ante and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
