In Texas Holdem, the first step is to get the card game started, and for this the competitors put out a specific total of cash. ‘Posting the blinds’ is the frequently used saying for this play. In the next step, the dealer shuffles the cards and gives out 2 cards face down to all players. A regular deck of 52 cards is used. After the deal, there is the initial sequence of wagering. This round is normally referred to as a "pre-flop".

After the 1st wagering sequence, the first card of the deck is tossed aside. This thrown away card is called the "burn card", and this is done to guarantee that there is absolutely no treachery. The next three cards are then revealed face up on the poker table. These cards are known as ‘the flop’. Now comes a 2nd sequence of betting, after that the croupier tosses out an additional card and deals one more card onto the poker table. After this, participants can utilize the 6th card to create a five-card poker hand.

A further round of wagering happens, and in many types of games, here is where the wager size increases. There is another round of throwing away a card, and a final placing of a card face-up on the poker table. This is known as the "river". Competitors can now employ any of the five cards on the table, and/or the two cards in their hand, to assemble a five-card poker hand.

To wrap it up there’s an additional sequence of betting. Then, all the players left start to show their hands. This is known as the "showdown". Clearly, the bettor who holds the greatest hand wins. When competitors have even hands a sharing of the pot is used.

Hold’em is a very easy game to learn, but to achieve knowledge it requires a lot of practice.
