Fix Attention on Annie Duke

by Raegan on February 23rd, 2013

Annie Duke mightn’t have attained her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she is still one of the most feared poker competitors around the ring games at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy after a big win at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mom" to her 4 kids. She hails from NH and grew up in a family of card players. If you do not believe that, have a look at her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her how to compete in the game.

However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has captured her share of challenging matches, including eliminating Howard along the way on numerous occasions.

Earning well over 3 million dollars in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and actor Ben Affleck, who wished to hone his abilities and become a big player in poker.

You may run into Annie at the Bellagio, you’ll catch her on television and you might just even play against her in a web-based poker game, but do not count on a simple win. Unless you’re a up and coming master, you will not beat her. although, it would be cool to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
