No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he loved playing numerous card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming very competitive in these card games while competing against his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a bit and moved to New York to participate in some serious chess. While competing in chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial two years were difficult as he played extensive hours and lose a majority of the time. He earned some extra cash by being an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he possibly could boost his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more sleep and concentrate even more on poker.

The real advancement in his game happened when he began betting at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would often challenge each other. He had access into a few of the best minds in chess. With their help, Howard would sharpen his logical thinking techniques. Howard used these strategy ideas in the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

He also assisted his sibling Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was an excellent student of the game as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper choice. He told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and play in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the best women players the poker world ever. Howard Lederer relocated to Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the subsequent 10 years. When the WPT gained popularity, he made the decision to participate in more tournaments.
