Online poker has become world famous recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer saying "No more bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers receive five cards. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to either make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s value is akin to your beginning wager, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the casino. After the bet is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, including an amount in accordance with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your wager and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
