Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he could about poker. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Although Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
